Notes

  1. Cajun Seasoning: Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to your preferred level of spiciness. You can always add more later if you like it hotter.
  2. Chicken and Sausage: Browning the chicken and sausage before adding other ingredients adds flavor. Make sure they're cooked through.
  3. Rice: Use long-grain white rice for the best texture. You can rinse it before adding to reduce stickiness.
  4. Broth: If you have homemade chicken broth, it can enhance the flavor, but store-bought works well too.
  5. Simmering: Keep an eye on the jambalaya while simmering. If it becomes too dry, add a bit more broth or water.
  6. Additional Ingredients: Feel free to customize with ingredients like shrimp, okra, or bell peppers for extra flavor and variety.
  7. Garnish: Fresh herbs like parsley and green onions not only add color but also freshness to the dish.
  8. Leftovers: Jambalaya often tastes even better the next day as the flavors meld, so don't hesitate to make extra for leftovers.
  9. Serve with: Consider serving your chicken jambalaya with a side of cornbread or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
  10. Storage: Store any leftover jambalaya in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
